Just finished todays case. It went as well as could be expected.
I was surprised by the mobility of her congenital scoliosis. I did a posterior osteotomy and then instrumented and corrected focally. Everyone on the team functioned superbly and the Case Hospital staff were resourseful and very supportive.
We are at Case and not Mulago today because the sterilizer at Mulago is still not functioning. Case is a private hospital, operated by one of Mark Kayanja’s classmates. It has been open for about a year and it is nicely equiped but certainly not by N/A standards. They do have a c-arm, setting it up required some OFAT, but it worked. The team is ready for anything.
