Michael S. Hisey, MD is an orthopedic surgeon at Texas Back Institute. Dr. Hisey specializes in Spinal Surgery and focuses on using the most advanced and least invasive techniques available to treat his patients. Dr. Hisey earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology and completed his Medical degree from the University of California in San Diego. He then completed a Surgical Internship and Orthopedic Surgical Residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Hisey spent time in Austria working on his Trauma Fellowship at the University Clinic for Traumatology and joined Texas Back Institute in 1999 after he completed his Fellowship in Spine Surgery at Texas Back Institute.

Dr. Hisey served as President of Texas Back Institute from 2010 through 2013. Dr. Hisey has served as Vice Chairman for the Department of Surgery at Denton Regional Medical Center, Chairman of the Board of Managers for Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Flower Mound and Vice Chairman of the Governing Board at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Flower Mound. He also serves on several committees for national medical societies such as the North American Spine Society (NASS). He is regularly called on to present research papers or symposia at national medical society meetings.

Dr. Hisey serves as the official spine specialist for FC Dallas and is a consultant to several spine implant companies. He has been involved in the development and validation of several products used for correcting spinal disorders with minimally invasive techniques.
